Dear Colleagues,
Dear Friends,
On behalf of IBA Radiopharma Solutions and the CHU de Québec-Université Laval, we are delighted to welcome you to the 15th IBA PET Cyclone® Users Meeting and the 9th Synthera®Users Meeting, which will take place in September 2026 in the beautiful city of Québec.
Founded in 1608, Québec is one of the oldest European settlements in North America. Its unique historic architecture, narrow cobblestone streets, and beautifully preserved fortified old town make it the most European‑feeling city in the Americas. With a metropolitan population of over 830,000, and home to Université Laval as well as numerous government institutions, Québec offers a vibrant academic environment and a dynamic public sector that together create a lively, youthful atmosphere. Its proximity to breathtaking natural landscapes also makes it ideal for those who love impressive waterfalls, hiking, and skiing- though let’s hope there’s no snow in September!
In 2024, following the completion of the new Radiopharmaceutical Sciences Laboratory and the successful installation of the IBA KIUBE 300 µA cyclotron, the CHU de Québec-Université Laval proudly joins the global community of IBA cyclotron owners, becoming the first institution in Eastern Québec to acquire such a cutting-edge asset. This state‑of‑the‑art cyclotron enables local production of essential radioisotopes for PET imaging, supports a wide range of clinical and research activities, and strengthens our well‑recognized center of excellence in theranostics.
Operational commissioning began in early 2025 with the first proton acceleration- an important milestone marking the start of on‑site production for both clinical imaging and research protocols. Once fully certified, the cyclotron will significantly enhance Québec City’s radiopharmaceutical innovation capacity and ensure a reliable isotope supply for clinical PET activities across the region. Our tracer development portfolio is expanding using multiple module types, including Synthera® Extension and Synthera®+, with the ambition of becoming a training hub for the next generation of radiochemists and radiopharmacists.
During the Users Meeting, you will have the unique opportunity to visit our new 1 000 m2 Radiopharmaceutical Sciences Laboratory, which includes large‑scale GMP production facilities, translational radiochemistry and R&D laboratories, and a modern radiopharmacy located inside a brand‑new oncology center designed around patient‑centered care.
The IBA RPS team will also share the latest technological developments and provide access to the expertise of peers from around the world through hands‑on workshops and dedicated networking events.
We look forward to welcoming you to Québec City, exchanging insights, and sharing our collective experience with IBA in an inspiring and collaborative atmosphere, especially as we continue to advance this challenging and exciting project of building and commissioning a brand‑new cyclotron facility.
Warm regards,

CHU Québec
